Belgium is a pretty small country with a large population. It is surrounded by France, West Germany and Holland. I live next to Brussels, the capitol of Belgium. I graduated last year from high school and this year I do my senior year over in another country, the USA. Some people call this a waste of time or losing one year, but I certainly think the op- posite. Living in another country, culture and family is very interesting, fun and fascinating. Being an exchange student and spending one year far away from family, friends, town and country is perhaps hard and depressing, but I know that I'm very lucky to do this all and I will always remember this year as very positive and fun. I'm 18 now and after this year I'll have more responsibilities and more independence. When I came in ZHS, I was very glad to see your curiosi- ty and to hear all your questions. Your interests in somebody from somewhere else pleased me very much. It was hard to make friends and sometimes I had the impres- sion that some students didn't want to accept me, but other students really helped me and accepted me as a friend. I really want to thank all those friends, teachers and guidance counselors without whom I would never have finished the semester. I will never forget ZHS and I really think to come back someday to Florida. fajb 63 Mommy gave me a quarter for the ice cream man. You're asking me? The frustrations, problems, and deadlines can't be described, but the satisfaction gained at seeing your work printed is worth it all! There are so many thank you's that must be given. First to Mindy — we did it! And we did it together! Thanks for being a great person, a great editor, and a great friend. To the staff, one of the best I must say, thanks a billion! You know this could not have been done without you. To Jim Bolin at Taylor Publishing and all the guys at Bryn Alan, a special thank you; we're so grateful for your help. Finally, to Mrs. Palmer, who put up with countless hours of chatter and Duran Duran posters on the wall! Over the past four years you have become my friend and I will be ever thankful for your love and concern. I honestly believe that the 1986 Zephilsco is a super yearbook, but without the students and faculty at ZHS, it wouldn't be the same. Thank you for allowing the Zephilsco staff to capture in these pages the spirit and enthusiasm of the Bulldogs! Life is a celebration — may you celebrate these memories forever! Love ya! Jill Finnerty It's hard to put into words the way I feel about this book and the peopl who've helped put it together. Being co-editor. I've been able to wot with all aspects of this year's Zephilsco, including the photography, layou design, and decision-making, and I must say that I am quite proud. However, none of my input would have amounted to anything if hadn't been for the devotion and dedication of the other staff member Their support and hard work have paid off in what I believe to be one the best yearbooks this school has ever had. Also responsible for the success of the 1986 Zephilsco are my fello' co-editor, Jill Finnerty, and our advisor, Mrs. Ellen Palmer. )ill, your dete mination and creativity have impressed me a great deal, and I'm glad 1 say that our friendship has only thrived because of our working togethe Mrs. Palmer, you've been my rock. Without your help and guidance, I' afraid I might have given up. I hope you realize just how special you are. Many other thanks go to those mentioned in Jill's letter, but most of all want to thank YOU, the students and faculty of ZHS. If you weren't ‘ understanding and accommodating, this book would never have be possible. I love you all!! Love, Mindy Sasx 240 ¥ i V
