SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY Natescha Betterman, Carol Hughes, and Connie Dayton have just taken a toll of the graduating class of '56. Here’s what we find out as we look through the files. Incidentally, they are now our nation's census takers. May 31, 1966 James Jarrett spends all his time teaching his seven daughters the art of pole climbing--telephone poles, that is. Margaret Seppanen has a job as a secretary and after ten years of practice she has perfected her shorthand so that she can just about read her notes. The fact is she has begun writing everything in shorthand--nobody can read her longhand. Nancy Lee is now employed as a vocalist on the Massey Network which, by the way, is run by Lamarr Massey. He never goes on the screen though--he's afraid people will compare his physique with that of Jackie Gleason. Richard Mattingly, Nathan Geiger, and Bob Howell are still at Z.H.S. where they have been detained because of their ability to play football. Mary Sawtelle has become the world famous Dior Defying fashion designer and model. Gail Smith works as her top secretary and has a side-line of raising quite a family. Well, if you call eight kids a family--almost a herd. Nell Locke still runs the paper route. On this job she not only delivers papers but also helps Yvonne Cooper, the World’s Champion Lady Wrestler, keep in good training by letting her run alongside. James Jones, owner, director, and producer of Jones Studios, supplies the nation with Supercolossal Movies, which are a combination of Vistascope and Cinemavision. Sarah Peck always thought that being a missionary’s wife would be exciting. What she didn't know was that that red hair was real. Charles Whittington has been promoted to President of the local bank—with this comes a raise in pay--now he can afford a new transmission for his '38 Plymouth. Melba Adkinson and Kay Crawford are two of the top secretaries at the United Nations. They actually got those Russians so confused that they are applying for admittance to the United States. Roger Lane has finally learned to use the dictionary with the help of Mrs. Gill— he is kind of fast at catching on, it only took him 10 years to learn. Bubba Allen has acquired his prize possession, a Columbia rear end for his car— the only catch in this deal is that he no longer has a car. Edith Overton Griffin now sports around in a hot-rod--one she made herself--this is quite a change from the career of nursing she originally planned to go into. Tommy Carte has found something new to shoot at in the vanishing prairie be- hind his house—vanishing because every now and then during a rainy season it becomes an ocean. Wendell Collins is now the proud possessor of a can of Duck-wax polish for his ’49 Ford convertible. This wax was given to him by Donald Whitworth who combined all his formulas left over from chemistry and happened upon this great discovery. Carol Sibley has a new job. She is now taking up lunch tickets instead of giving them out as she did for three years at Z.H.S. and four years at college.

Rubye Hill has cultivated a very slow southern drawl whereas Pearl Rowe went to the extreme opposite. Janet Freed, as a beautician, has fulfilled her lifetime ambition--that of giving Olivee Jones a crewcut. As a result, Olivee is getting rich making expensive toupees. Vonceil Clardy runs the largest Sweet Shoppe in the U.S. As her head soda jerk she employs Linda Williams. By putting their heads together they dream up such concoctions as Cyanide Shake , the milk shake that puts you out of this world. Betty Newsome now has her mansion on a hill and a brand new Cadillac to go with it. Seems as how she found her pot o' gold early in life. Nancy Miller is nursing Ellen Heath back to health. Her condition was caused by a nervous breakdown resulting from the publication of this yearbook. This annual not only caused one, but two nurses, to be needed. Mr. Brantley ran off to dark Africa and was followed by our missionary nurse, Edith Austin, who vowed not to let him do anything drastic. Larry Burnette is now the chief bookkeeper and typist of the National Guard Unit No. 7-11 at Crystal Springs. Curtis Craig has organized a detention ward in 7-11. The main objection to this is that he is the sole occupant of something he devised for
