April 7 the girls finally got their chance. CAA sponsored the annual Sadie Hawkins Dance. Shortly Rush, the D.J., played soul music to an audience of blue- jeaned kids. The gym was decorated like a barn which added effect to the evening. Bales of hay were placed around the gym for tired dancers. A wheelbarrow used as the honeymoon ride was an added attraction. A dance contest was the highlight of the evening. Counter clockwise from far left: (1) Steve McGlade and Jennifer Cunningham take five. (2) Lori Tucker and Rob Buzza wait impatiently to be released from jail. (3) Randy Tracy and Meg Kautz wait for the music to start. (4) It appears Mike Addis has one too many dates. Julie Stimpson and Gale Barrett are both trying to grab him. (5) Mr. Davis acting as preacher marries Jodi McKinney and Mike Humm with Max Winland and Cindy Dingle looking on.

The junior class play was presented by members of all three classes and the Z.H.S. drama department. It was presented on the night of Friday, March 31 in the Z.H.S. auditorium. The play evolved around a school teacher named Sylvia Barrett who was teaching in Calvin Coolidge High School for the first time, the students, who were mostly sweat hogs, gave Miss Barrett an extremely hard time. Two of the students who were played by Karen Zwell- ing and Robert Noll were potential dropouts. They harrassed Miss Barrett to the point where she was ready to give up being a teacher. The cast for this years play were: Mel Straker, Robert Noll, Shari Jenkins, Rick Brunston, Jeff Jenkins, Carol George, Susan Bryant, Karen Zwelling, Jeff Hawk, Susan Delaney, Roxanne Wells, John Shaffer, Lori Obenour, Cindy Moore, Dan Andrews, Erin Osburn, Jeff Bradshaw, Gail Barrett, Rikki Cor- bett, Cheryl Wilson, Ron Grimes, Debbie Caliman, and Matt Henery. - Top Left — the class of sweat hogs seem a little bored with Miss Barrett. Right — Miss Barett (Mel Straker) confronting with one of the students (Jeff Hawk). Bottom — Curtain call at a rehearsal.
