Ctrifi p 0l0AQCy I It was 1971 and I was back in the city of Zanesfleld The town had increased in size since the movie industry had moved tnere I was talking to an old man and, although he was blind and his hearing was failing, he was very friendly and talkative He said that the city was more important than Hollywood had ever been I asked him what had happened to the Senior Glass of '51 H said Jack Thompson was a famous inventor He had been experi menting with heating services and had come up with a new type of furnace Charles Miller, flying a Jet plane, brought diamonds to this country from a mine in Greenland The owner of the mine was Margaret Spurlock It seems that her husband bought her a mine so she would have a hobby, and it had turned into a profitable business Jim Shoots d1dn't like the c1ty,so he moved out west and now was a first class farmer Wanda Little was the president of the First National Bank of Zanesfield I can't help remembering when she was cashier at good old Z H S Tom Van Voorhis had owned a flor1st's shop but had discovered he was allergic to flowers He became embittered left Zanesfisld and has never been heard of since You must remember how the Richeys were famous for their fine turkeys Well, Herbert has greatly increased the family wealth He worked hard training his turkeys to do acrobatic numbers was touring the country with the Barnum and Bailey circus The old timer d1dn't know what the rest of the class was doing, so I decided to go to my room at the Waldorf Hotel I stopped at the Denmark Theater and looked at the marquee There was to be a premiere of a new movie starring June Graham and Glendale Zell, a new romantic team Now that accounts for two more of the class I walked on a little farther and bought a magazine at a newsstand There I saw a wealthy looking lady walking two beautiful cats When I stopped to admire them, she turned toward me and I dis covered that the lady was Dianne Greene She said she owned twenty five pedigreed cats which had won many blue ribbons at pet shows I bade her farewell and went on to my hotel In . . 9 4 1 , ' . CLASS PROPHECY CCONCLUDEDP As I started through the door, I was almost trampled by some screaming girls. When I got a safe distance from them, I saw Harold Young, completely surrounded. The hotel manager said that there had been no peace since Harold had been there. Harold was the greatest sensation since Frankie Sinatra. I told the manager to send up the daily newspaper, the Zanesfleld Inspector and went to my room As I leafed through my magazine I saw a familiar face It was Mary Spurlock in an advertisement for Barrywood Cosmetics She was more beautiful than ever, pro- bably due to the fact that she was loyal to her employer Just then there was a knock on the door When I opened it, I found that it was a boy with my paper Since I always start at the back, reading the comics first of course, I noticed a used helicopter advertisement In large print it said 'See Bashful Bob for a Bargain W But in the picture which accompanied the ad was a picture of Robert Lovett the helicopter dealer Before I had time to get over that surpr1se,I saw the name,Doro thy Kline Upon reading further I found that she wrote for a love lorn column She always did give good advice Well, now I have accounted for the whole class of 1951 They surely have accomplished much in the past twenty years CM 'MJ We the Seniors of Zanesfield High School being of sound mind upon this 23rd day of May 1951 do hereby agree to the follow ing document and do bequeath upon the following humbl reclpi ents our most highly prized traits and possessions June Graham do will my cheerleading ability to Wilma and Judy Little Dianne Greene do tender Wsuperiorn typing ability to any one who may need it Wanda Little, do tender Job as cafeteria cashier to John Van Buskirk Robert Lowett do bestow curly hair upon Jim Firmin Charles Miller do beoueath my math ability to John Van Buskirk Herbert Richey do tender my ability to raise chickens to Joe McClanahan James Shoots do tender my ability to drive to Tom Davie Margaret Spurlock do will my ability to get married to Glenna Iatzer Mary Spurlock do will the 'Jeffersonlann to Gloria Cooksey Jack Thompson do will my size to Donald Dearing Thomas Van Voorh1s,do bestow my curiosity upon David Sargent , Harold Young do bequeath my muscles to Dave Sargent I Glendale Zell do bestow my 'way with women' to Buddy Van Voorhis , e , .
