Jayvees Prepare For Next Year The Yuma High Jayvee football team won three games this year, and they had a great attitude in their games in spite of their losses. Their record was 3-5. Yuma did have a good season with regard to the players. Coach Needham commented by saying, They did an excellent job this sea- son. Yuma's Terry Shaw was their re- turn specialist with a 50-yard return against EI Centro. Joey McMorris was their quarter- back. ln their first game he was brought up toVarsity. He fueled the Crims to their first victory over El Cen- tro with his potent running and pre- cise passing attack. FRONT ROW: Raul Garcia, Danny Garcia, John Strickland, Louie Gonzales, David Alka, Tyr- onne Jones, Frank Castaneda, Willie Prest, Gerald Godard. SECOND ROW: Peter Spain, Sylvester Johnson, Paul Belt, Salvador Urina, Ricky Arviso, Julio Pazos, Danny Griffith, Bob Rhyine, Ish Villan- ueva, Bobby Lutes. THIRD ROW: Coach Kisselburg, Tom Groggett. Throwing o key block on the play is David White CGQJ. ABOVE LEFT: First head coach Gary Venturo. He had his greatest moment so far as Crlm coach in the team's 20-6 win over Kofa. It was the first time they had defeated Kofa in nine years, and it took the class of '80 to do it. ABOVE MIDDLE: Assistant coach Marty Dillon. He wos the defensive line coordinator.
