The night of homecoming, October 26, was a big one for all the candi- dates vying for Homecoming King or Queen. After a solid week of contest and games, the candidates were now anxiously awaiting the aut- come of the student body votes. On these pages, their memories are captured as they walk toward the platforms, hearing the announcer tell of each one's school involvement in the past four years. The crowd was silent as everyone anxiously listened for the announcer, The Yuma High Homecoming Queen and King for 1980. . .Maddy Martin and Rick Garcia. When asked of her reaction to the announcement, Maddy said, I was in no way expecting to get it, so after they said my name, I was on cloud nine. Being Homecoming Queen is something I've always dreamed of. On October 26, Maddy Martin's dream became reality.
