Board and Superintendent lnifi H W Seated from left to right the members of the district school board are: Mrs. Helene T. Mennett, president, Robert! Moody, clerkg Steve R. Blake, Wilson Roach, and Theo Beach, members. Citizens of Yuma went to the polls in October of this year and elected the above five district Board of Edu- cation representatives. These representatives serve the community without remuneration for their efforts. They act as disciplinarians, judges, managers and buyers. Their authority allows them to expel pupils for misconduct, to exclude any publication showing partisanship and to examine all district schools management, conditions and needs. They may also authorize faculty and administrative leaves of absence and allow any board member, superintendent, principal, or school representa- tive to travel for school purposes. The board hires all employees of the schools, fixes all salaries and approves purchases made by the schools.

Administrators and Counselors W 5 BILL MANES-- Principal Serving as Yuma High's principal for 10 years, Mr. Bill Manes coordinates all the activities ofthe high school. He works closely with teachers and students to continually raise academic standards and to pro- vide worthwhile extracurricular activities for the student body. HENRY MARTINEZ-- Assistant Principal Henry Martinez directs all athletic events at the school and serves as perhaps its most avid fan. He works closely with students and teachers to uphold necessary disciplinary standards. GEORGE BILTZ-- Assistant Principal Assistant principal George Biltz, is responsible for registration and attendance throughout the year. year, Mr. Biltz headed a campaign to improve attend.ance.
