goafball Yuma Union High School opened its 1952 football season in a nonconference game with Golden which we lost 12-0, The following game we played Goodland, Kansas. The Indians showed their superiority through- out the game but were unable to score. By a lucky break the Goodland team was able to score and we lost the game 6-0, We then played our first conference game at Haxtun. Again we came out second best with the score '7-6 in favor of Haxtun. Our second conference game was played at Fleming. The Indians really went to town and we bested Fleming 48-6. Our Homecoming game was played against Iulesburg. Iulesburg, being the lightest team in our conference, was thought to be a fairly easy opponent. But they proved otherwise and after a hard- fought battle the game ended in a 6-6 tie. On October 22 we played the Akron Ramblers. The Indians played a great game that night and beat them 25-14. Holyoke journeyed to Yuma the following week. Yuma played a good game against a team which was unbeaten, untied, and unscored upon by any team in our conference with the score coming out 52-0 in their favor, Our season ended with the traditional Armistice Day game, played at Wray, The Indians fought a fierce battle with the Eagles, but the Eagles came out ahead 13-0, Var ity Letterman A, C, --All Conference GLEN POWELL DOYLE BEVERLY MILTON CHRISMER Cen. 3'4' T. 3'4' A.
