Jazz Ensemble And Orchestra Under the leadership ofthe new director, lVlr. Grimes, both the Jazz Ensemble and the Orches- tra learned many new songs and improved their talents. Led by award Winning drum major Chuck Menley, and assistant Lee Burns, the band participated in many football half-time shows and competed in band review all over Southern California. As of this Writing, the band was Working diligently in raising funds toward taking a trip to the San Francisco Bay area. They will perform there along with the jazz Ensemble and Choirs. Choirs The Girls Chorus, Concert Choir, and lVladrigals make up the Yucaipa High School Chorus Department, These groups have per- formed at many community affairs, including, among others, a Christmas program held in the nevv gym. As of this vvriting, the chorus groups are trying to make money for a trip with the bands to the San Francisco area. On this trip they will tour on a bus, singing at various places along the vvay. A lot of thanks goes to lVliss Cook, the advisor for the three groups.
