1950 1951 The Class of 54 got off to a rather dlsmal start by loslng the coveted bronzed derby to the blg bad sophomores We chose Ron Smlth to pound the gavel Dan Owens for Vlce Presldent Paul Brewer to watch over the plggy bank Nancy Beeler to push the pencil and Sue Mllchoefer to plan the soclal slate under the watchful eyes of our advisor Mr Brookman Under thelr leadershlp we en joyed a very actlve year wlth the Freshman Receptlon the Freshman Dance Our Very Own and several fund ralsmg cake sales hlghllghtmg our flrst year as hlgh school students 1951 1952 Wnth Tom lN1ms as prexy the brand new sophomores gained a dubious measure of fame by loslng the Derby for the second straight year Asslstlng Tom were Mel Thoma as Veep Clorla Stevenson as Secretary Karen Klebert handling the funds and Bette Mlller as Socxal Actlvltles and Mr Brookman dolng repeat performance as advlsor T. 1952 1953 As Junlors and thereby upperclassmen we the ugly duckllngs of 1952 shed our pln feathers and became fully plumed Honkers Gary Elgaaen took over the helm with Bette Mxller as Vlce Presldent Joyce Daulton taklng mlHUtCS Mlllle Hmds countlng our pennles and Kitty Munz supervxslng the soclal scene Mr Halght took over the advlsor s relns The blg sparkle of a star studded soclal year was our very successful ,lunlor Prom tltled Aprll ln Parls 1953 1954 At last after three years of toll and sweat we have scaled the heights we are masters of all we survey Ron Smith was reseated ln the Presldents chair Nancy Beeler returned to her secretary s duties as dmd Sue Mllchoefer to her social actxvltles job New faces were Treasurer Karoly Nall Vlce Presldent Wallv Crother and class advisor Mr Sulllvan Most notable among many unforgettable events were the Semor Carnival Semor Cut Day Semor Ball Baccalaureate and flnally the most unforgettable of all Commence ment f 1 X ' X N 1 ' 5 .1 ' ' , xx t X. .
