Tragedy Hector Beltran, Don- na Collins and Bill Perales respectfully examine the portrait done in memory of the late President Kennedy by Mr. J. J. Johnson. Forming a caravan, an ea- ger tribe gathered at the bonfire, a special treat sponsored by the Kappa Iota Sorority, to witness the burning in effigy of a Bel- Air Highlander. November ended on a trag- ic note as the President of the United States was as- sassinated. Ysleta's popula- tion ioined the rest of the world in sorrow and dis- belief. ovember Marred by Nationa Excitement and anticipation of Home- coming ushered in the month ot No- vember. On the long-awaited day, Mr. Rodney Davenport was named 1963 Honored Ex while all exes, proudly rep- resenting their classes, marvelled at the noticeable changes in their Alma Mater. Student Council members pushed the sale of the new Tepee Finder, and bas- ketball season got off to a good start with the Player of the Week Display as an added feature this year. Art Club members complete a mysterious banner, launching the basketball season. A fs, 1, 3, EE ' 5, if MISS NOVEMBER, Norma Brijalba, contemplates plans for a Thanksgiving feast. She represented Library Club in the beauty contest. Teachers and former students talk over old times at the FTA Homecoming Tea and Art Club Exhibit. I8

First place winner in the door decorating contest featured a living tree, complete with lights, presents and decorations. The class received free Pow Wows and refreshments. 20 Christmas Season Mary Ann Long and Ramon Reza, leading characters in Down in the Valley, perform as the choirs look on.
