F umie Discovers Southwestern Life F umie Suyama, a petite Japanese miss, traveled across the Pacific Ocean to spend a year in high school at Ysleta under the sponsorship of the American Field Service. Fumie's ambition is to learn to speak Spanish fluently so that she may become an interpreter in Japan or at the United Nations. Through Fumiels efforts to promote international un- derstanding, Indians have gained a lmetter comprehen-' sion of Japanese customs and life. Among her activi- ties, Fumie has performed for various school functions and has spoken at several community clubs.
