1972 has indeed been an interesting year, full of activities and studies for students, meetings and re-evaluations for the teachers, financial and organizational worries for the administrators. Covering all of this in a single book has been a year long challenge for the yearbook staff. We have tried to include in these pages as many things of importance to the school community as we could. One of the most exciting additions to this year’s book is the use of color on many of the pages. This is the first time in the history of the YPSILANTIAN that color has been used and we hope you find this an enjoyable new addition. Having a fall delivery was the only way we could afford the color pages. In order to give you a chance to sign your friends’ books we provided a supplement, also for the first time. (Don’t forget to tape into the book.) We were especially lucky this year to have a number of very good photographers who supplied us with lots of excellent pictures. We felt they deserved credit for their skill and efforts so you will notice photo credits next to many of pictures. Each year attempts are made to offer creative changes in the YPSILANTIAN to make it different, and hopefully better than past years. A bright cover, dark end-sheets with ‘72 stamped on them, special effects used on the division pages and other photos, humorous and thoughtful quotations, and reflections on each section are some of the new things you will find in this year’s book.
