-EYFEI DIXITY' ' Class Prophecy As Forescvu by JOHN DOUGLAS MACKENZH-2 I've often heard tell that dreams come true. I'ni not at all sure, but if they do, The class leaving Y psi High in nineteen thirty Shall become famous by nineteen forty. In the shower before we went for a swim, A challenge was offered to beat me in. I ran for the board and took a jump, :Xt the top of the dive the ceiling did bump. But as I came down, I uttered a groan, For the pool was empty, as dry as a bone. It was an age before I came to, And a lot of experiences I went through. Some don't believe me 3 they don't think they're' true. But here is my story: I'll tell it to you. NVhen I awoke, I felt I was falling. I opened my eyes in a plane that was stalling. Looking at the pilot, whom should I see Hut Bernard Baer, as calm as could be. Near me were passengers 'mongst whom I could see Roger Parish and his wife. I-Ie called her Katie. I noticed a radio and happened to hear .X championship iight, topping Fairbanks' career, .-Xnd as I listened, the announcer turned out To be Raymond Horton, without a doubt. He told of the notables who then were presentg Some of the names were both familiar and pleasant. Le,Cureux, Le Clair, and Squiers, it appears, Are known o'er the world as The Three Musketeers. Max Crane in the Olympics has rung I-Ie is present with his great manager, Kenneth Dundou. Many more notables mentioned he, Including Kersey, Bronson, and Lee. Orville, it seems, had grown quite stout: It took both of these girls to push him about. Twenty-Nine -----...... I9 30 -

-EYPEI DIXIT-lf: Thirty While I listened to this program with pleasure. Bernard gave us an extra ride for good measure. But finally he gunned the ship and away he flew To an airport both magnificent and new. As I alighted a sign took my eye, Advising Markham's love pills to try. A large red sign appeared on the right, Helen Staebler's cookies are easy to bite. Away to the left was a sign that did dance. Go to Skinner and Mitchel for corduroy pants. I was glad to find out that these old friends of mine Had really settled down to stick to one line. A news urchin sold me a paper just then. The headlines told of a second King Ben. VVith eagerness then I the colum-ns did readg Don VVeir was the king of this colony, indeed. Reading farther within the paper, The newlyweds are Kroh, Hornbeck. and Baker. Turning to the death list, believe it or not, Dignan died from work--boy, that's hot! The sports' page came before me in my dreams. There was Coach Batterson's prediction of the college football teams. ' Stirring in my dreams, my mind did buzz and wanderg Of the nurses, Bird and Britton, the patients are growing fonder. I saw Evelyn Lyke going steady with her man. He had traded his big Buick for a little Ford sedan. Mildred Hughes is being courted. everybody knows: A dashing hero wants her to be his VVild Irish Rose. As the world's champion diver I visioned Kasmer Zeck. I Harry F rentner fell in love and he was married then. by heck! Miss Margaret Stadtmiller was still so very charming, The sales she made in real estate were really quite alarming. Poupard and Haas a firm have consolidated. For knowing how to make farming pay quite highly they are rated. Trowbridge and Vivian are loyal to dear old Ypsi I-Iighg They returned as teachers. as such they'll live and die. -1-1930 -..L.'-....... -
