-EYPEI DIXIT-T' 5. Faculty Gossip will find without having to observe very closely that one of the best looking features of our school is that ever-faithful and ever-cheerful group of folks known as the Faculty of Ypsi-High. In making a tour of the building, we find on the first fioor, room 109, Mr. Allen, head of the Speech Department and a keen competitor for any orator. VVe wonder if his wife ever wins in an argument. On the other side of the hall is Mr. Osgood, who is usually engaged in picking some poor insect to pieces. After observing a demonstration of this sort it is perfectly obvious why girls or the timid members of the male sex avoid taking Biology. Then there is Mr. lvens. a good example of the great Apollo. From what I have seen and heard. his chariot, or to be more modern, his Chevrolet, has made him quite popular. Miss Miley also shares a nook of this fioor. where she patiently endeavors to teach the wayward Juniors and Seniors correct English and proper discipline. Numbered among the new teachers is Mr. Best. He and Mrs. Ervin are very wise fand otherwisel in their control of the study hall. If you don't believe it, ask anyone who has tried to skip or sleep during the hours they are in charge. Mr. Berg and Mr. Melin teach Manual Training. lsn't it a pity that this course isn't offered to the girls? ' When students become seriously inclined, the library, under the able guidance of Miss McCrickett and Mrs. Rogue, offers a safe refuge. s If you have lost anything, Miss Hardy. Miss Hogan. and Miss Ryan might be of assistance to you, because they can always find that elusive Hx. Many students take a Commercial course just to enjoy Miss Murray's friendly smiles. Mrs. Montgomery can tell you how to act any part. and Mr. Ross is known to every atom. Art is taught by Mrs. Elliott. One really feels that he has created some- thing when she exclaims. Now, isn't that cute? Mr. Schimniel instructs classes in furniture designing and wood carving. while Mr. Sabourin double-checks on our attendance. Miss Blekking teaches French. and Miss Lidke, Latin. but they both seem to have a mutual expression, which is Be seated and be quiet. Without Home Economics, taught by Mrs. VVilliamson and Miss Lewis, our girls would be poor future housewives. Our music must not be forgotten, for our school is very proud of the achieve- ments made in that department under the direction of Miss Yates and Mrs. Van Antwerp. Around the corner, in the Gym, we find Miss Allington, Mr. Foy, and Mr. Schaeffer, who see to the physical education of our students. Last, but not least, we have Principal Land, High Protector and General Supervisor of all, students and faculty. Seventeen - - -......-T.: 1930 -
