HISTORY As a group partly from Youngwood Iumor Hrgh and partly from Holy Cross we went for an educatronal tram rxde Before we arnved at our flrst stop Freshman we were met by a pamt 1ng crew who decorated us wrth pa1nt shellac and l1pst1ck We were then taken to Sub stat1on two and g1ven to the englneer Mr Fox Whrle at th1s statron our hrst QCIIVIIY was a home room party at Chr1stmas t1me For th1s we had a lunch and a dance Also for the occas1on we borrowed a Chr1stmas tree from some unknown person We sold statronery to help pay for the ex penses of our Freshman dance Apnl Showers when we danced to the mu s1c of Roy Deans orchestra Our next stop after a short summer vacatron tr1p was to the Sophomore Dance Cuprd s Hop We then left for another summer vacatron Our next stop on our educatronal Journey was the Iunxor statxon Here was added a car f1lled W1th students from Stanton W1th these students and Mr Mar1 and Mr Chatlos as co eng1 neers we began to ra1se money by sellxng magazrnes Our Iunlor dance was held durlng Chr1stmas tlme under the nam of The M1stletoe Hop The only class play of our hrgh school ca reer was staged th1s year It was Sev enteenth Summer Our flnal act1v1ty for th1s year was a prom held rn honor of the Class of 51 The theme of 1t was Spr1ng Crnderella Ball Our frnal stop was Senlor Statlon Mrss Kunkle and Mr Rutter were chref engrneers of our small class of forty passengers It was here that we sold cards sweat shuts and candy Through the early part of our tr1p we lost two passengers Our dance th1s year was for the purpose of gettlng acqualnted therefore 1t was g1ven the name Get Acquarnted Dance but 1t was better known as the Vrctory Dance b cause of our football teams vrctory over South Huntrngton In late October we Journeyed to the Flude Studxo 1n Irw1n where we had our Senror grad uatron prctures taken Iust before Chr1stmas nlne lucky Semor band members rece1ved Jackets Next the football team rece1ved Jackets Th1s ln cluded one cheerleader and twelve football players Our flag stop came 1n May Queen Patr1c1a I rergned mag nrfrcently over her court w1th the help of Mard of Honor Loms I At the annual Baccalaureate servrce we Sen1ors rece1ved tlmely spmtual advlce to gulde each of us 1n our fu ture lrves The day f1nal1y came for our gradu atlon lune 3 1952 At th1s t1me th1rty erght Sen1ors rece1ved drplomas whrch we had long worked for Thrs ended our Iourney rn the Halls of Youngwood Hrgh School 1 . , . . . u - - n ' Q . - n . . gy , Q , .
