In the interlude between a brief illness and his passing, the one place above all he wished to be was in school. And so the last few days before the end, he spent in the classroom among his friends. Time may dim, but never entirely erase from our mem- ories his love of freedom, his easy manner, and the sense of humor he carried with him in his relationships with others. Death came in the shadows of the winter. And as we stood quietly in the rain that day, grief whispered in its naked soul of the promises of spring. Life! We've been together Through pleasant and cloudy weather: 'tis hard to part when friends are dear,- Perhaps 't will cost a sigh. a tearg Then steal away, give little warning, Choose thine own timeg Say not Good Night, but in some bright clime, Bid me Good Morning. mi Il -1 IH' nm-uv' 1f ' 'uI'2'I1 ' 1 'I 1 1 ' 'H' -'Inu ll . She served on the school newspaper staff and was a member of the glee club. Like all :ixteen year old girls Judy loved plea- sureg and we know too that she was happy with her friends when the tragic moment came. ' Life is but earth's magic spell. It holds us briefly be- fore death's perfect silence settles o'er us. Yes, Judy is gone. But while our hearts were breaking. a vision came of a door swinging outward to a sunny world beyond the eternal stars. As spears go down with beauty, so you went, Shaping the perfect arc in air. O bright And splendid javelin with power spent, Ceasing its brief. its unretarded flight. Not if I could, with pity or with awe. Would I hold back one moment of your days From that half circle drawn without a flaw And ended here, . ',.n',,I,.. .1 . ,.
