57140122 Rraffan, Grefe, greece Little did I know when I took the exams for the A.F.S, scholarship in I-Ieraklion, Crete, Greece, last fall, that I would be in the United States as an A.F.S. Student this year. I feel that I am one of the luckiest girls in the world to have the opportunity of spending a whole year in Youngsville with the most wonderful family - Mr. and Mrs. Victor Schnell, Rick, Lee Ann, and Lynda f whom I had never dreamed of before this summer. And now living in Youngsville I not only enjoy being a member of this family but I feel that I belong to the Hnest senior class, the class 1970-71. Since arriving here from Greece in August everyone in the community and the school has been very friendly to me. Youngsville is really the biggest little town on the map because its people have the greatest hearts in the world. Truly this year will be an unforgettable one, not only because so much is new and different for me but because I have found lots of love and I have loved you in such a way that Iill never forget. And something I have fig- ured out and I want you friends to know is that rozmlrjes and curlomr may be dwrefzf fm! people and hemfrr are live mme all over the world. I canlt really express how deeply grateful my Greek hlmily and I are for the opportunity which only comes once in the lifetime. A great big THANK YOU to my family, my friends, my teachers, A.F.S., and the community of Youngsville for making one of my dreams come true.

qmerzeans g76r0a0fCSfz10Q12f fbaozbf tZ7ZyQZ df0f 9 Bruges, Belguim Elst, Belgium Bruges, Belgium During the summer of 1970, I was fortunate enough to have been chosen as an AFS Americans Abroad stu- dent to the country of Belgium. I lived in the small town of Elst with my host family Mr. and Mrs. Albert Seg- hers and their 18-year-old son Freddy. My summer was one of many facets - beautiful sights to see, interesting people to meet, new customs to learn. And because of these things, I feel that I have come to a better understanding of my lite in the United States. Naturally, I have a deep sense of appreciation to all those people who helped provide me with this won- derful experience.
