AMEPJMN FIELD QEPMCE I left New York City on June 25, 1963, and sailed on the M. S. Seven Seas to Rotterdam, Netherlands. Traveling by train with other AFS students, we crossed the Nether- lands, Germany, Denmark, and Swe- den. From Sweden, I went by ferry to Turku, Finlandg where I was met by Hmy family. Leaving Tur- ku, 'amy family and I traveled to their summer cottage near Porig where we lived for one month. After this time we left for Kuopio, a city in eastern Finland with a popula- tion of 50,000. Here, at the per- manent residence of my family, I remained until joining other AFS students in Helsinki 'for the final week and the trip back to America. I lived with the Mattila family, consisting of my mother and father and three sisters : Mar- joana, 16g Marketta, 15, and Kirsti, 9. My father was the managing director of several banks. As mo-st AFS students, I learned a great deal from my stay in Fin- land. We all feel that everyone has a wonderful family in another coun- try. Jeanne Maasz
