U 'QW I WCW' L 1 l B The Key Club is a service organization which tries to prepare young men for future life by developing such qualities as initiative, leadership, and citizenship. Once a month, five of the nineteen boys attend the local Kiwanis Club meeting. ln cooperation with the Kiwanis, the boys help maintain Peters' Park. One Key Club boy and one Kiwanian work together at Peters' Park keeping it clean and in repair. The boys also help the community by assisting in the before and after tasks at the fairs and Carnivals. On Monday mornings, the boys in the club carry supplies for the teachers. This year they sponsored a dance and sold popcorn at the football and basketball games. These money raising projects helped to send the boys to their state convention and pay for their ackets. This yearls officers were: President, Chuck Sample, Vice President, Craig Wooidg Secretary, Les Sanfordg Treasurer, Greg Fitzgeraldg and Lieutenant Governor, Steve Meleen. The Broadwalk, our school newspaper, is published monthly. Two new teachers, Mr. Nadal and Mr. J. Dunn, were named as ad- visors of the paper this year. With Doug J ewell as editor and a large, ambitious staff of re- porters, one of the best newspapers ever pub- lished at Y.H.S. rolled off the press this year. Reportersk could be found haunting class- rooms and lurking in corners. They snatched pieces of inforniation daily from whomever and Wherever they could to select a Boy and Girl of the Month in addition to a Teacher of the Month. A few items of intriguing gossip were a speclalty of our snoopers. Events of in- terest always received adequate coverage as did club activities, class projects, and sports. Jeanne Natale and Elaine Rhodes sent news items from Y.H.S. to the Warren Times Mirror every week. B72-AOADWALIG QTZXFF Left to Right Row 1 S Vorse J Lanmng S Brooks D Jewell M Mulvey Row 2: S. Any freshman, sophomore, junior or senior boy who has earned a varsity letter in any sport is eligible for membership. Those boys receiving three letters are awarded varsity jackets. And what a proud day it is when those jackets arrive! Where do the green- backs come from to pay for these jackets? From their candy sales at the basketball games, and from the dances they sponsor after the Friday night basketball games. And who is the advisor of this group?-None other than Mr. J. Miller.
