Layouts are done on special forms, the exact dimen- sions of the pictures and their positions are drawn through on triplicates. The completed triplicates are sent to the pub- lisher as blueprints for printing the pages. LITERARY '4Write-up's, write-ups, Write-ups, forever write-ups! This is a familiar exclama- tion from everyone on the literary staff. But, of course, that,s what this staff does. UBEARY The new library, which was opened this year, contains 5,727 volumes and has a potential capacity of 8,000 volumes. Seating capacity is now 75 people, which is 413 more than the old library could seat. The doors were opened September 25 for limited service to students in grades 10, 11, and 12. During the Week of October 21-29, the seventh grade was orientated to the layout and operating procedures of the library, and on October 30 the library was opened to the entire student body. The library training class, consisting of 47 students, meets in the library during activity period. This class familiarizes interested students with the ftmetions. of the library. They learn the classification of books and their arrangement on the shelves in addition to various duties they will perform as library assist- ants. ART Throughout the book are small drawings and spot designs. These are the work of the art staff. Much care is taken with these drawings, for each must complement the page as well as fit for size. PHOTOGRAPHY The photography staff took all of the action shots found throughout the book. Wally Long, our young apprentice, is learning which Way to point the camera.
