Ratfaflskl SECRETARY The Student Council is the governing body of our high school, under the guidance of Mrs. Knapp. The members are elected by their fellow classmates in each homeroom. Also, each class as a whole elects delegates to represent them in, the Council. These students must have an 85 average grade. One of the Council's first activities was the Welcome lnga Dance. The foreign exchange student is always an honorary member of this group. Each year the Council presents a yearbook and an American Flag in remembrance of Youngsville and America to our exchange student. A new idea, that of having a receptionist in the lobby every period to- receive and assist any visitors to our school, was started this year. The group voted on the assem- blies to be presented during the 1963-64 school year. A committee from the Student Council worked with class presidents and faculty members to set up standards and rules concerning school dances. The Council sponsored the Frosty Night, our annual Christmas Dance, on December 20. As a money raising project, they sold folders in the lobby. Again, the group presented scholastic achievement pins to those students who ranked first, second, and third in each class.
