TURCHAN Guidance Counselor University ot Pittsburgh Graduate work, University of Pitts- burgh Hobbies: Hunting, Fishing, Reading, Music GUIDANCE COUNSELOR is Mr. Tur- chan. The purpose of the guidance service is to enable the student to learn about the school's opportuni- ties, to help the student know his in- terests and abilities, and to help plan the student's high school pro- gram so that he will be prepared for his future life. Mr. Turchan's office is open at all times to help the student with his or her problems. THE HOME AND SCHOOL VlSITOR'S purpose is to bring about better understanding among the child, the parents, and the school. One aspect ot his iob is to bring about better attendance at school. The iob involves some of the following re- sponsibilities: I. to help the pupil End a career suited to his talents and abilities and help him to pursue the chosen career. 2. to help the school provide the most ade- quate programs and courses. 3. to help parents understand the school and what it does for the children. 4. to show the community the responsibilities it has toward its children.
