SMITH Mrs. Smith, director of the Recorder's Of- fice, has been on the faculty of Youngstown University since 1939. She received her B. A. from Hiram College and her M. A. in Physical Education at Ohio State. Mrs. Smith's previous positions at Youngstown University have been Assistant Registrar and Head of the Health and Physical Education Department. Under the able leadership. of Mrs. Smith, the Records Office does a competent and speedy job of recording grades and credit hours. ef - V W3 Director of Machine Records KATHLEEN ELENZ Mrs. Elenz is in charge of the IBM Depart- ment at the Recorder's Office of the University, where she has the responsibility of issuing all class cards for registrations. Business Manager P. CALVIN PICKARD Mr. Pickard, as Business Manager of Youngstown University since 1936, has skillfully supervised the business and financial program of the school. Mr. Pickard has an extensive teaching and vocational background in accounting, auditing and office management, and has acted as dean of the School of Business Administration during World War II. 1 31 rhg5F3'?,r1 f..-Qtifgfvs 33' 4 Q Rf Assistant Business Manage: WILLIAM G. NELSON Assisting Mr. Pickard ir1 his many duties is Mr. Nelson who came to Youngstown University in November, 1946, and had previously been with the Home Builders Research Institute in Washington, D. C., as chief accountant. During the war he served with the 11th Air Borne division in New Guinea, the Philippines and Iapan. As chief war- rant officer, he served as assistant and battalion adjutant and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious ser- vice. Mr. Nelson graduated from Youngs- town University with an A. B. degree and has a M. Litt. degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Auditor LILLIAN I. COLE Miss Cole is the auditor of Youngstown University, and is supervisor of the accounting and payroll departments. Miss Betty Williams, who is Miss Cole's assistant, deserves mention for the many duties which she performs efficiently. Director of Public Relations FBEDA R. FLINT Miss Freda Flint, director of Public Rela- tions at Youngstown University, has been here for 40 years. She attended Ohio Wesleyan University and received her B. A. degree from Youngstown University. Miss Flint interviews students and arranges tours of the campus for the many schools and organizations in the area. Historical facts, statistics and general in- formation regarding students, sports events, campus organizations, enrollment, alumni, and many other news events may be obtained from Miss Flint's office. Director of Placement ALFRED I. MINOTTI Mr. Minotti, director of the Placement Of- fice, came to the University in 1956. Mr. Minotti was previously an employment super- visor for the Ohio State Employment Office and an assistant buyer for the G. M. McKelvey Company. The Placement Office handles all requests from employers for qualified personnel to fill various positions. It is also the responsibility of the agency to operate the Teacher Place- ment Bureau and to arrange interviews be- tween students and prospective employers. l 24
