MISS MARGARET EVANS C. L. WORLEY L T. RICHARDSON Miss Margaret Evans has been with Youngstown College as head of the Art Department since September l935. She received her B. S. degree at the University of Chicago, where she studied under john Dewey. She has done graduate work at Columbia University and has traveled and studied art in Europe in l924 to l926. From l9l9 to l935 she was Director of Art at Butler Art Institute. Maharry Before coming to Youngstown, Professor Leonard Richardson was a professor ot foreign languages at Iowa State College, Ames Iowa. ln September l93O, he came to Youngstown College as a pro- fessor of foreign languages. He received his A. M. degree at the Uni- versity ot Chicago. He has done graduate work at the University of Grenoble lFrancel and the University of Paris. At present Dr. Rich- ardson is head ot the Department of Foreign Languages. Beard came to Youngstown College in the fall of l946. He received his LL. B. degree from the University of Penn- sylvania Law School and his A. lvl. degree in economics from Univer- sity ot Pittsburgh. During the war he served with the Army and was stationed in the Pacific Island. He has been head of the Economic Department since I946. O. L. REID Mr. O. L. Reid has been head of the Division of Social Sciences at Youngs- town College since l934. Mr. Reid re- ceived his M. A. degree from New York University and his LL. B. degree from the University of Louisville Law School. From l92O to l926 Mr. Reid was Superintendent of the Youngs- town Public Schools. Professor Reid was editor of Lockhart's Life of Scott and Franklin's Autobiography, and has had many of his writings published. He has been with Youngstown College since l93O as head of the Chemistry Department. During the past year Dr. Scudder was appointed, one of sixteen scientists in the state, to serve as key personnel in the field of radiological defense.

Dr. George Wilcox came to Youngstown College as head of the Education Department in 1933, He served as Dean of the College from .1936 to 1949. He received his Ph. D. at Columbia University. From 1924 to 1927 he was Director of Education of the Near East Relief in Greece, Syria, Palestine, and Transcaucasia, and has written exten- sively in this field. Foster Athens Reese Anne Lowery George Glasgow George Schoenhard Elizabeth Miller Mary Haddow Paul Smith Dr. Clarence P. Gould, head of the History Department of Youngstown College, came to Youngstown in 1939 from Kenyon College, where he was dean and professor of history. A graduate of john Hopkins University, Dr. Gould is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He has published several important books in the field of history as well as numerous articles and reviews in leading historical journals. FACULTY MEMBERS George Eddy O. L. Reid Elbert Smith Zenos Hawkinson Morris Slavin Iarnes I. Williams Mrs. joseph E. Smith has been with Youngstown College since April 1939. She formerly was Alumni Secretary at Hiram College. She received her M. A. degree in physical education from Ohio State University in August, 1947. She is head of the Physical Education De- partment and an Assistant Registrar of Youngstown College. Riley received his S. T. B. lCum Laudel from Boston University School of Theology and his Ph. D. from Boston Uni- versity Graduate School. He has done graduate work at Harvard Uni- versity. His academic work has included teaching the history of re- ligions at a number of colleges and universities.
