We believe that he had those qualifications which our Alma Mater tries to develop in every student. Up to the time of his death Mr. Deesz served as the Dean of the Wil- liam Rayen School of Engineering. He was appointed to that position in March 1943. Before entering the field of education, he had 25 years of practi- cal experience with the Westinghouse H., '. ' ' '--. ................, N A ..i,ii,.,..iii.,..,i. X Electric and Manufacturing Company of Pittsburgh, the Colorado Fuel and Iron Company, Freyn Engineering Company, and Republic Steel Corporation. He held the position of combustion engineer at the Republic Steel. He was graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology. Mr. Deesz was also a member of The National Society of Professional and Registered Engineers, American Society of Engineering Education, American Institute of Electrical Engineering, Kappa Sigma and Mi Pi Epsilon fraternities and was a 32nd Degree Mason. We have lost a great educational Crusader and a good friend.
