UFFICES ARUUND THE CAMPUS The registration office has been a department itself for the last two years. The most important tasks of this office are scheduling appoint- ments, making and distributing class cards, completing registration, and processing all students. We also advise new students and make up their permanent records. Morgcm, Deck MAIN UFFICE The responsibilities of the Registrar's Office include student admission and class registration, and maintenance of all student academic records. The office is also, by virtue of its location, a general information center for students and for the public. BUSINESS 0FFICE The Business Office, consisting of a force of ll ll persons under the super- vision of Wm. G. Nelson, Assistant Busi- ness Manager, concerns itself with the function of billing tuition, advising and certifying veterans, maintaining finan- cial records and business contacts with faculty and outside individuals and or- ganization. SECRETARIAL STUDIES DEPARTMENT lt is the objective of the School of Business of Youngstown College to give the student a thorough and practical training which will prepare him for the type of work he wants to do. A business-like atmosphere prevails so that the student should be at home in the actual business office when he goes out to a position. When the student has completed his training, the School of Business makes every possible effort to see that the student is placed to his satis- faction in a position for which he is adequately prepared. DEPARTMENT 0F SDCIAL SCIENCE This division is made up of the departments of Economics, History, Law, Philosophy and Religion, Political Science, Psychology Social Science, Sociology, and courses 4Ol and 402 in the Humanities, Fractional credits are also granted for other courses in the I-lumanities. A major in Social Science consists of 45 semester hours selected from the above departments. A minor in Social Science consists of I5 hours, all of which must be in one of the social sciences. Students planning for .the above courses should seek advice from an instructor in the Social Science fields and should also be advised in the MacQueen, Iames Roth, Minnie IVIR I B. WILLIAMS, SR. DR. O. L. REID DEPARTMENT 0F SDCIDLDGY Sociology's primary object is to discover what happenes in our associa- tional life and why. Itys secondary is to use that understanding toward the predication and cooperative control of societal behavior. This study speci- fically concerns the structure of human society. Specialization in Sociology implies an interest in graduate study either in the direction of academic or applied social science pursuits and is there- fore, in the nature or pre-professional work. Study of the sociological courses, however, supplements any other departmental specialization by adding to the student's understanding of man and thereby increasing his efficiency in living with his fellows. Williams DEAN'S UFFICE The Dean's Office has both educational and admini- strative duties, ranging from assigning room numbers of classes to the responsibility for the progress of the edu- cational policies of the college. The office of the dean of students is also centered here. Beach Mrs. I, Crcrver PUBLIC RELATIQJNS It is the purpose of the public relations office of Youngstown College to promote good will toward the college-serving the students in any way possible that they may leave the college feeling kindly toward it- serving the public promoting cooperation between the college and the community and publicizing the activities of the college by newspaper, radio, and direct-by-mail methods. At the end of summer l went back to my principalship served the first semester and resigned january l9th, l928 and started with Youngstown College january 2Oth. The reason for coming to Youngstown was the opportunity of helping to establish a college. The need was great and l often wondered why there never was a college here.
