P. ln memory of a bird who had a way about him: a death-like hush, heads bowed in sadness, and the far away sound of echoing taps . . . come reminiscent flickers of a not-too-distant past, like when you left your Arctic home and moved bag and baggage right into our hearts, becoming a by- was Word over night .... a debut in true Stork Club style at the Westminster game in '39 .... Beau Brummell's seal of approval on your impeccable full- dress suit, kept sleek and shiny as a wet seal-with castor oil .... Chrysan- themums on feminine shoulders, mink coats, pennants waving like made, a Pe-PePeng cheer, and withal a queen and her train paying homage to a right noble monarch. Then came happy days spent in cavorting with the swans at Crandall Park Cyour chest inflated with pride for you were cock-o'-the walkl, a dedication in the 1940 Neon, a birthday cake with one pink candle on it, and even a full-length page in the Collegiate Digest .... and then- o miserabible dictuufyou, too, went the inevitable way of all flesh .... oh, cruel Valkyrie to separate us so! To Mr. Bunn for his taxidermy, to our poet laureate for The Ballad of Penguin Pete -a toast .... to you, stout fellow, a chevron on the sleeve for distinguished service, medallions cap-a-pie, and a flying double P formation by the Dawn Patrol .... The Seniors-backbone of our college for four years-We are proud of you for your loyalty and leadership. Our thanks to you who have represented and served us on Student Council-working for the things we Wanted-for the splendid Student Handbook--a boon to Freshmen-hats off to members of Delta Epsilon, Sigma Tau Delta, Phi Epsilon, Omicron Lambda-keeping high point average besides being socially active-to Alpha Psi Omega and lvlirnes-hours of work backstage and before lights to provide entertainment for us. Congratulations to the lambar editor and staff for getting the news to us-working to make our paper the best bi-weekly in Ohio and being awarded the silver cup-to the Neon editor and staff for the splendid work in giving us our college life in pictures. For musical entertainment-the College Orchestra-Chap el Choir-presenting us concerts-Cantatas-operas-the Col- lege Band-drum major and majorettes-adding that extra zip at football games. So-long Seniors-sorry you are leaving-We Will miss you.
