1 Baseball and basketball have fared well under the direction of John Ed Dowling. Only two returning letter-men supported the basketball squad, and these, Bob Troutman and Bud Thomas, were named co-cap- tains for the season. The Jackets following a slow start quickly found their stride, and played on to win many important games. They claimed one of the best seasons ever boasted by an orange and black quintet. The Yellowjackets were as successful in the I948 baseball season as they were in the i949 football season. They won eight contests and dropped three. Only four members of the team graduated, so we are expecting a better l95O team because af the experience members acquired last year. One Hnmlrczl-right
