RIDING As soon as spring rolled around, every Week a group of horse-loving girls could be seen leaving the school under the competent leadership and amiable companionship of Miss Wheeler. This group journeyed to Hutchinson Farm, where they spent an afternoon of pure, healthful enjoyment. TENNIS With those girls who liked sports which require individual skill rather than team play, tennis was very popular. The enjoyment of playing the game, together with the value of playing, is probably the reason Why such a large number of girls may be seen out on the courts trying to model their play after the play of the great tennis star, Alice Marble. BASKETBALL Basketball the favorite winter sport among the girls, seemed to have the larger percentage of response for after school sports. As in previous sports, honor teams were formed. This team played Bronxville but unfortunately lost. ARCHERY Among the more unusual sports, we find archery. However, the girls at Young seem well acquainted with it, for every year a large group of girls elect archery as their after school pastime. The dream of everyone of these girls is, of course, to hit the bulls eye. judging from the contented smiles of the girls after an afternoon of archery, we may safely surmise, that for many of them, their dreams have come true. w few. all .
