THE YEARBOOK STAFF Working conscientiously to achieve the completion of this yearbook, which is the first of its kind ever to be launched by the students of the Young High School, the entire staff derived great pleasure and satisfaction in attaining its goal. Since the Senior Class was small, it was vital to have the support of all classes in the school. On the staff there are students representing all grades. An important factor in the accomplishment of Castle Echoes of l942 was our faculty advisor, Miss Anna M. Bartnett, whose genuine friendship and advice encouraged us along in our work. lt is the hope of the staff that this book will serve as a record of all the memories of our years at Young and that it will be regarded as your own yearbook to take pride in always. 29

With South Sea Island motif and soft lights, a most pleasant atmosphere was created by Marty Kahn and his efficient staff of decorators. No small part of the success of the prom rests on the shoulders of the co-chairmen Bill Lysaght and Pat Morley. Pat, by the Way, was chosen Queen of the Prom by the members of the Senior Class. Don Campbell, who acted as master of ceremonies, presented Pat and the runners-up Trudy Marshall, Diana Sherman, and Tappy Burrill, with floral bouquets. Door prizes were also awarded through the courtesy of local merchants. The music of Tommy Peter's band added the final touch and insured the dancing pleasure of all in attendance. If future Senior Proms are sure to be as successful, both socially and financially as the first, future chairmen should have no Worries. 30
