She hopes to be a typist. MABEL ROYSTER Oyst Mabel named dancing as her hobby. She would like to go to a nursing school. LEO SALCH Lee Because of work, Lee limited himself to intramurals and joy riding. He wants to join the Navy. GEORGE SANTOS Shorty George enjoys portrait drawings as a hobby. The bowl- ing team, Yearbook, and Senior Prom were his interests. He hopes to attend Pratt Art Institute. CHARLES SCHALLER Model racing cars and bowling are two of Charlie's chief amusements. He will P.G. MANVEL SCHAUPFLER Schauff ln Schauffler we have leadership. His activities included the hockey and track teams, cheerleading, Senior Play, and Yearbook staff. College is his aim. CARMINE SCOCA Scocy Carmine's interest was mainly in athletics as a mem- ber of the basketball and baseball teams. He hopes to attend Holy Cross. DIANA SHERMAN Peaches Secretary of the Senior Class, Diana was president of the G.A.A., in the Scholarship Club, and Yearbook staff. She is going to college. IAMES SHORT Spike A member of the varsity football and basketball teams, lim also went to Defense School. He hopes to join the Navy. DOROTHY SMITH Smitty Dorothy confined her activities to the Senior Play. Delving into graphology provides interest for Smitty. GLADYS SMITH Smitty The Cheerleading Squad claimed Gladys as a mem- ber. WILLIAM NYLIN Bill Although Bill left school before Iune, he was on the Com- mencement Committee. His artistic ability was of great help to us on many occasions. DOROTHY O'KEEFE Dot Dot, who hopes to attend Paine Hall, was on the Year- book and Prom Committees. Her hobby consists of odd pictures. LUIGI OLIVA Squegee A good, hard Working student, Squegee spent most of his spare time in Defense School. IOHN O'REILLY Slim Because of Defense School, Slim had to limit his activities to the track team. He will Work after gradua- tion. EMILY PAPPAS Blue Eyes Emily's interest lies mainly in music, as she was in both Band and Orchestra, also the G.A.A. Playing the French horn is her hobby. VERA PENNA Ve-ra's interest centered around sports in which she did well. Her future plans include work. MARY PIZZONIA Shorty Letterwriting is Mary's hobby, while the G.A.A. claimed her interest. She Wants to work and get married. WILLIAM POELLMITZ Bill A lover of sailing Bill hopes to join the Merchant Marine after graduation. IOSEPH PONICO Puttering with Deisel engines is Ioe's hobby. He was in the Bowling Club and Wants to join the Air Corps. ANTHONY RABASCO Banjo Tony, whose ambition is to join the Air Corps, spent his spare time in the Leather Club. He is a sport fan. WALTER RABBITT Bunny The track and football teams were Walter's interests. He collects records and Wants to work in an airplane factory. GRACE STROH A Scholarship member, Grace lists bicycling as her hobby. She will go to college. THELMA STROMAN Thel The Red Cross Club and G.A.A. took up much of Thel's time. She hopes to attend nursing school. BERNICE SULTZER Niecy Bernice, Who plans to enter secretarial school, was in the Senior Play. Collecting small glass objects is her hobby. ARTHUR SUMMO Moe Intramural sports and the band were lVIoe's activities. A member oi the Bowling Club, his hobby is photography. ANTHONY TEDESCHI Tony Tony came to Young last tall. A member ot the track team, he builds model planes in his spare time. RICHARD THOREN Dick Cowboy songs is Dick's hobby, While the Yearbook, bowl- ing team, Commencement Comittee, and managing the hockey team kept him busy. IDA TRETOLA Cider The Senior Prom and Commencement Committes interested Ida. She was a member oi the Red Cross Club and will attend business school. LEONARD WALLACE Lennie A hot trumpet player, Lennie's activities centered around music. He is going to N.Y.U. WILLIAM WEEKS Bill The oustanding figure in our operettas, Bill is a master of the piano. I-Ie likes dramatics and plans to attend college. MALCOLM WOFSEY Mal A member of the track team, Mal has been an ardent supporter oi all class activities.
