LORNA BARNES Barney In Lorna we have a Scout Leader whose hobby is sailing. Her plans for next year include college. BETTY BELLIZZI Betty Betty's activities included the Senior Prom decorations and the Yearbook, While bridge is her hobby. She intends to become a nurse. BERNHARDT BLAUSCHILD Bernie A swing addict and manager of the track team, Bern- hardt intends to be a post office clerk after gradua- tion. MARVIN BOTTNICK Marv Marv has a deep love for music and plans to enter N.Y.U. after graduation. NANCY BOWEN Nan Nan favors horseback riding and having fun. She wants to work in a doctor's office. MICHAEL CAMPANELLI Bingo fVVliY1-Q Mike made a name for himself on the hockey and ase ball teams and Scholarship Club. He intends to go to work. CHARLES CALDERARA Rara A member of the football team, Charlie favors pho- tography and will enter defense Work. KATHERINE BURRILL Tappy Tappy's activities included the Senior Play and cheer- leading. She intends to go to college. CHRISTINA BUCHANAN Butch Chris, a member of the G.A.A., names swimming as her hobby, and she hopes to Work next year. THOMAS BRODER Tom I Tommy was active in the Senior Play, Senior Prom, Year- book and track team. Spending money is his hobby, while college is his aim. IAMES BROD Iimmy The hockey team and First Aid Classes took much of Iim's time. He collects pipes and intends to go to Dartmouth. 11

SENIOR CLASS HISTORY On the eve of graduation as we look back upon our high school days, there are a few events which have an outstanding place in our memories. The main event of each of our high school years has been a class dance. During our Iunior year we joined with the Sophomore class in putting on the Iunior-Sophomore Prom, our first really successful dance. .As Iuniors we introduced the plan of having a class luncheon, which we held in honor of the varsity basketball team. After lunch and several speeches, made by members of the faculty, entertainment was offered by Anne Davidson who played requested songs on her accordian. An occurrence early in our Iunior year, which probably few of us will remember in another four years, but which played an important part in our organization, was the farcial nomination of fictitious Ioe Palmer for president of the class. An interesting and successful event which occurred this year and which helped to raise money for the yearbook was the production of two plays on the evening of Iune Qth. The plays, one of which was the ever popular melo- drama and the other a comedy dealing with the trials and tribulations of a seventeen year old boy, revealed many talented Seniors. The schoo1's initial Senior Prom, which was attended by more than two hundred people, established a high standard for future proms. Our classmates strolled beneath shimmering palms under a tropical moon on a South Sea Island while the chaperones and attending members of the faculty looked on from an advantageous point in a cozy cocoanut grove. Bedecked in leis the couples danced to the rhythmic strains of Tommy Peter's orchestra playing at the water's edge. ln this tropical haven of make-believe, floral presentations were made to Patricia Morley, Queen of the Prom, and her entourage consisting of Gertrude Marshall, Diana Sherman, and Katherine Burrill. With this brief history we hope that we as the first graduating class may leave behind us a record which will long be remembered. 10

DONALD CAMPBELL Don Besides editing the Castle Courier, the Senior Play, Year- book and tennis team claimed Don's interests. An ardent popular music fan, he plans to study journalism. ROSEMARlE CARUSO Roe Rose, who was active on the Commencement Com- mittee and Scholarship Club finds horseback riding fun. She plans to attend Katharine Gibbs. DOROTHY CERRONE Dottie The G.A.A. claims Dorothy's interest and she lists having fun her hobby. Her plans include a job and marriage. THOMAS CHAPLIN Chappie Par on the links or a fast tennis game provides recrea- tion for Tom who plans to attend college or join the U.S. Army Reserve. MARY CLELAND Kle The G.A.A. and Prom preparation took much of Kle's spare time. She worked on the Yearbook and plans to study journalism. DOROTHY COLEMAN Dottie School activities for Dorothy included the Castle t Courier staff, the Operetta and the Senior Play, but she plans nursing or music as a college course. FRANK COOMBS Duffy Frank, whose hobby is making airplanes, has secured a position in New York City which he Will enter after grad- uation. ANNE DAVIDSON Davy 4.0au,,-L ala ogdaking fudge is Anne's hobby, while the' Yearbook, A A and S O , numbered among her activities She will attend Mount Holyoke. IOHN DEMPSEY lack For two years president of the S.O., Iack gained fame on the football, basketball and baseball teams, also the Scholarship Club, Senior Play, and Yearbook. Sketching is his hobby, and he plans to be an artist. THOMAS DOWNS Puggsey lreland's gift to Young was active on the football and track teams, while model airplanes are his hobby. He Will join the navy. IOSEPH DUNN foe While active on the football team and Yearbook, loe was Senior Class Treasurer, whose hobby is model airplanes. IACOB EDWARDS lake Being a member of the band, Iake's interest centered around music. He Would like to study engineering. 12
