Fonner, commandant of the satellite and our host of the past few hours, waves farewell. This has been the first stop in a journey intended to take us past the present homes of the members of the Y.A. Class of '56, After landing in San Francisco, we proceed to the office of Ramona Johnson, editor of the international magazine, SCANDALL. She makes us comfortable in her luxurious of- fice, and invites us to glance at the forthcoming edition of SCANDALL. On the cover of the magazine is a picture of Shirley Rund and the caption-- Beautician Reveals Intimate Secrets of Hollywood Stars! Although Shirley is too pressed for time to grant us an interview, we are pleased to hear from Ramona that Shirley is well-known as the most prominent beautician in Hollywood. Leaving Ramona's office, we cross the street to the huge office building of the Royal Oil Co. where two more graduates of the Class of '56 operate as co-directors of the company. Leah Meehan, executive secretary of the company informs us that the two men, Dave Allison and Herman Weddle, are in conference and will not be able to see us today. She is able to tell us, however, that Dave has married Helen Julian of Hume and is now the company's business contractor, while Herman, still an eligible bachelor with an income exceeding S 1,000, 000 a year, is director of the mechanics division. The morning is still young, but by the time we have flown to Chicago to make our next contacts it should be time for lunch. After lunch we drive to the University of Chicago where the eminent mathematician, Dr. Paul Preston, is scheduled to lecture, As the result of many achievments, in- cluding trisecting the angle, Dr. Preston, accompanied by Mrs. Preston, is touring the country and lecturing at the better schools. After the lecture and a delightful chat, we drive to Schiller Park, where in two magnificent homes live the Rayburns and the Schumachers. Mrs. Rayburn is the former Linda Shaffner and Anna Wood has married Warren Schumacher, The ladies are society hostesses entertaining nightly and are reputed to have the most lavish dinner parties in the Midwest, On our way to the airport, after having spent a pleasant half-hour with each lady, we pass a gigantic industrial plant which houses the Porter Feed and Grain Co. We are informed by the cab driver that John' Porter is the owner of the multi-million dollar business. After a brief flight we arrive in Indianapolis on the eve of the immortal 500. At the stadium the next day we meet Mr. and Mrs. Howard Williams, who inform us that they are now retired, having leased the 10, 000 acres of farm land that they own. They tell us that Sharon Weddle is to be the first woman driver in the 500 and that most racing experts say that she has an excellent chance to win. We stay long enough to see Sharon win every lap of the race. Once away from the stadium we purchase a newspaper wherein we read that after seven years of tireless effort, Grace Wright has succeeded in persuading all world powers to disarm. The three remaining members of the class are Paul DeAtley, Ted Cohen, and Dave Lang, We find that Paul is listed in WHO'S WHO IN AMERICA as one of the foremost mechanical engineers in the world. Paul did much of the work in designing the first interplanetary rocket ship, Dave resides in New York City where he is known as one of the greatest directors ever to work on the Great White Way, having the unusual ability to direct any type of production. Ted has entered the field of medicine and at present is doing research work in laboratories throughout the country. Ted Credits his first biology teacher, Mr. P.W. Holaday, with setting him on the track to his biological discoveries. From what we have seen during this month of May, 1971, we may safely say that the old Y. A. Class of '56 has BROCTON CLASS WILL l, Thomas Addis, will my ability to play baseball to Larry Kirchner, I, Nelson Arnold, will my basketball ability to Jimmy Towell, 1, Merl Grove, will my ability to be late to school to Dean Sims. BROCTON CLASS PROPHEC Excerpt from the Moon-News, dated February 29, 1976, In the local Hi-Lites it was noted that Tom Brengle was holding a class reunion for the B. H.
