He attended the University of ldaho and received a Bach6101 of S ' D I - t cience egree there in Business Administration in August of 1958. After graduation he attended Officer Candlflllae School in Newport, Rhode Island, receiving his commissio E ' n as nsign on 30 April 1959. His first assignment WQS 10 TRATHEN QDD 5305 as First Lieutenant and ASW Officer. He then went to ASW school in San Diego as a tactical instrll and subsequently returned to sea as ASW Officer aboard the cruiser CHICAGO QCG I lj. In 1966 he was assigned to Halsey POWELL CDD 6865 as Weapons Officer! Executive Officer. u Commander Thomas has sewed tW0 tours of duty in Washington D.C. From 1968-1970 he worked in the Offlc Legislative Affairs as a Congressional Liaison Offi . . I cer and from 1972 to 1974 he worked at OPNAV as Lia1s0Il to CNOITE between he served as Executive Officer of USS SHELTON CDD 790 H M J. e assumed duties as Executive Officer of YOSE in June of 1974. He served for three years as an enlisted man in the Air Forceln 1963 he was graduated from Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama, with the Bachelor of Arts Degree. ln 1966 he was graduated from South- eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, North Car0lina,with the Master of Divinity Degree. Chaplain Robinson is an ordained Baptist minister and has served pastorates in Alabama and North Carolina. Chaplain Robinson has served with the Second Marine Aircraft Wing, Cherry Point, North Carolinag liscort Squadron SIX, Marine Aircraft Group - 26, New River, North Carolina: Naval Forces Viet Nam, Naval Hospital, Key West and Naval Station Key West. ln addition he has had three months training in Clinical Pastoral lid ueation at Naval Hospital, San Diego, in conjunction with postgraduate work at Loma Linda University. Chaplain Robinsonls medals and awards are Navy Commendation Medal with Combat MV , Combat Action Ribbon. Navy Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal. Republic ot' Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation tCivil Action Medall. Chaplain Robinson is married to the tormcr Laura Marie Piper ofDora Alabama.
