 For it is a pleasure, too, to remember” Ovid To the Graduates: Although I am no longer at Yorkvillc, I still feel that your graduating class is MY class. I did spend two and a half years with you and had the pleasure of watching your progress from your sophomore to senior year. I am proud to be able to say that I was your principal during that time. You arc a group of fine young ladies who would be a credit to any school or any principal. We have a great deal in common. My years at Yorkville, like yours, were successful and happy ones, and neither you nor I will ever forget them .May you continue to prosper and may you always have good fortune! IN MEMORIAM To see a man so kind, so good diminished in your neighborhood, someone the world has loved and cheered, an image of a man not feared. A mass of flesh which bore Our Lord within his breast, Christ was adored. He did so much for everyone and Russia’s heart he also won. Where e’er he traveled, near and far, he was guided by God’s brightest star; hands were shook, smiles were cast, A memory now; this man has passed. For Adam, God created Eve, But our President was made to leave his wife, John Jr., and Caroline, to carry on his works, in time. Once there was a cheerful nation rich with goodness in God’s creation gaily riding in a motorcade unknowing, for him, a bullet was made. People, who cheered, now have cried their tears, from the world, they couldn’t hide. To serve your country, he hath said; this he did, and now, he’s dead. A form of truth and bravery like Lincoln, banished slavery in different manner; this we know, forcing discrimination to go.  Reason and calm judgment, the qualities specially belonging to a leader ” Tacitus To the Graduates: I should like to take this opportunity to greet you and, at the same time, to wish you well in whatever you do after you leave Yorkville Vocational High School. For many of you, this will be the end of your formal schooling. May I urge you, however, to keep three major goals in mind. First, try by force of personality and behavior to serve as a good citizen of your city, your state, and your country. Second, continue to develop your mental abilities by reading good books, by listening to good music, by expanding your intellectual horizons. Third, make use of the training which has been given to you to become successful in your chosen career or profession.
