Once a year a trip is planned to go to Chicago or surrounding territories This year's student council was engaged in many projects beginning with the purchasing of a new radio, more newspapers and magazines in study hall, freshmen initiation, student speakers at pep meeting, more assemblies and also the project of starting a youth center. We are also going to try and send our entire student council to Chicago to the convention in March. Other projects during the year have arisen but under the guidance of our capable officers the many other tasks were completed successfully. We are very proud to have in our school the President of the Kankakee district-Mary jo Trummel who was chosen at a meeting in Pontiac in the earlier part of the year. The Doctor Ha Dau hter The adventures and misadventures of Miss Tommy Billings, a small town junior miss, who has seen too many movies for her own and everyone else's good. Lovable, but with an overactive imagination, Tommy gets practically everyone in hot water. Her father, the doctor, her chum, Dodo, her sister, Flora Lee, the eccentric maid, Cleota, and the school teacher, Miss Thaxter, who is just crazy for culture, all are victims to Tommy's scheme to make everyone happy-whether they want to be or not. When the wealthy spinster, Miss Cassandra Thorn, pays the family a visit and Tommy decides an ancient romance should be revived, the complications that ensue almost teach her a lesson. Answering Lonely Heart advertisements, re-writing the school play, she has a busy time, and her family many anxious moments. Between acts we were entertained by Loretta Collman playing a piano solo, and Mildred Wicks singing a solo Sleepy Hollow Tune accompanied by Betty Todnem.
