The Social Studies and English departments are experimenting with this idea in order to provide more dynamic teaching methods in a crowded school situation. The team teachers are putting forth a great deal of effort in preparing lecture hall topics. Although conditions under which this type of program takes place are not always perfect, the work involved shows the interest the teachers at YHS have for its youth.

Amidst daily chaos there is a need for effi- ciency, both Helen Myers and Janyce Bousman have fulfilled this need. For nine years, they have carried out their tasks of selling school supplies, doing bookkeeping and secretarial work for Mr. Heath, and aiding young students. Through the office windows, their patience and warm smiles have made many lasting friends. When trouble arises at Y-town there is Mr. Kent Trempala holding the position of Dean of Boys. Along with counseling he accepts the responsibility of checking daily attendance. The great iob of counseling the entire social and academic fields at Yorktown is fulfilled by Mrs. Ellen Povalac, Guidance Counselor. Making important decisions which will inevitably affect Yorktown now and in years to come is the task of our Trustee Mr. R. Eugene Swindell and his Advisory Board, Mrs. Harriet Simonson, Mr. George Stephenson, and Mr. Norman Clore. Mr. McConnaughey KR? architect for school building expan- sion, goes over cletails with Trustee Mr, Eugene Swindell and Advisory Board members, CL. to RJ Mr. Norman Clore, Mr. George Stephenson, and Mrs. Harriet Simonson. Mrs. Ellen Povaloc finds great reward in guiding graduating Seniors into chosen fields.
