N., checks her sup- T Abrupt changes in the weather cause colds and sniffles. Pleas for aspirin and kleenexes are daily occurances in the nurse's office. When epidemics occur, the telephone is used to call parents and then the trek homeward begins, using any methods available. Many students, however, take advantage of the school lunch program, eating a hot lunch prepared and served by the cooks. Several ele- mentary students receive their lunch free of charge when they wash the dishes or dry the trays. ' fa Chairs scrape across the floor as the day's accumulation of can- dy wrappers and paper is swept up. Occasionally the empty school resounds with the hum of the floor polishing machine. Even during the school hours the maintenance crew is heard. Winter's cold brings furnace weather and the power plant goes to work. Ordinarily the job of taking the'children home falls to the crew of school bus drivers. Double runs are made by some of these carriers, a situation calling for an extra harried honk of the horn when the children aren't ready with their books and lunch buckets. l -HI 1 - if -x.. . 1, E11 Ei Mr. Charles Simonson, building superintendent, has many problems with which he must cope in seeing that our building operates smoothly. Mr. Lee Goodpaster, head custodian, keeps our school clean. Transporting students to and from school is the duty of these bus drivers. Seated are Mr. Tom Frame, Mr. Ted Dragoo, Mr. Gene Finley, Mr. Tom Mann, and Mr. John Walls.
