Enthusiasm reigns as stu- dents learn the principles of nature. To the English student the Spanish class is a room of indistinguishable chatter that is under- standable only to the beginning Spanish students. After learning Spanish, girls have an oppor- tunity to learn the art of cooking. In the home- malcing rooms sounds of frying foods and of hum- ming sewing machines dominate the world of noises. Dale Broadwater, Keith Thornburg, David Landrey, and Instructor Robert Smith work with the wood lathe in shop class. Spanish student Barbara Boyle writes In the spring it is good weather. Meanwhile, in chemistry class, young chemists com- plete experiments when effervescing acids deteriorate metals. Shouts of joy and pain come from the gymnasium as physical education students play games and practice calisthenics.
