THE HISTORY AND LEADERS OF QUR CLASS 7 ln September, l943, forty-three eager freshmen stepped into Y.H.S. with high hopes for the coming years. Our snazzy class officers were Dick King, president: Lois Ann Payne, vice-presidentp Donna Atwell, secretaryp and Keith Morrison, treasurer. We were guided by Mrs. Bright Kimmel and Mrs. Bernice Sigler, who kept us well in hand and ushered us safely into our sophomore year. As sophomores, a little more accustomed to high school life, we were glad that the grind of the first year was be- hind usp and looking forward to the coming year, we or- dered our class rings and elected all girl officers. The ladies were none other than Reva Curtis, president: Mary Louise flileynoldsl Manring, vice-president, Virginia Miller, secretary: and Donna Atwell, treasurer. Mrs. Kimmel and Mrs. Marie Dice were our sponsors. 1945 found us filing into Y.H.S. again, this time as juniors. We turned social and presented a semi-formal dance, The Snow Ball, and played hosts to the seniors at Mounds State Park, where everyone had fun. Our class officers this year were Reva Curtis, president: Iim Watkins, vice-presidentg Lois Ann Payne, secretary: and Harold Byerly, treasurer. After two and three years of sponsor- ship, Mrs. Dice and Mrs. Kimmel knew us well enough to be glad to hand our leadership over to Mrs. Mayro Porter and Mr. Merle Swanger for our fourth and final year. Seniors at last!! Forty of us will march up to the plat- form April 30, in our white caps and gowns, to receive our diplomas that we have worked for these twelve years past. This year is highlighted by our play, The Daffy Dills, presented October 18. Our class officers were all from the weaker sex or in other words the following boys: lim Watkins, president, Dick King, vice-president: Norman Dragoo, secretary, and Harold Byerly, treasurer. Yes, school is over with a .success that could not have been accomplished without the 7-guidance of our faculty. P
