After these damagmg vxclssltudes the sprmg of 1924 saw twenty Jolly Juniors flH1Sl'l the thlrd grlrd and pass mto the realm of the sedate and dlgnlfled Semor The same twenty showed up 1n the fall of 1924 to course laborlously down the home stretch wlth the exceptlon of Mary Loulse Searles who at tended summer school and recelved her dlploma at the completlon of the course Her place m the number lf not m popularlty was taken by Lola Wlnterhalter The twenty were namely Earl Antrim Iwnery Applegate Helen Brmdel Arnold Brown Ernest Logan Hensley Paulme Justlce Oreta Jones Lewls Kmsey Jacob Lenmngton Inez McKinley George Mltchell Damel Nelson Howard Pullm FlOSSl6 Snodgrass Anna W1lllamS and Lola Wxlllams Then ln November our class was mcreased from nlneteen to twenty members bv the entrance of Lola Wlnter halter from the Upland Hlgh School and today there are twenty dlgnlfxed senlors wmdmg up the watch on the Rme so to speak Preparlng to step from the doors that hold so many happy memorles for them mto the threshold of hfe Of these twenty fwe began thelr s hool llfe twelve years ago m the old Yorktown Hlgh School Bulldmg These flve brlght mlschelvous happy llttle tots were Earl Antrlm Emery Applegate Jr Ernest Donovan Danlel Nelson and Lewls KIHSSV four of whom were on the Annual Staff as Edltor Hlstorlan Joke Iudltor and Advertlsmg manager They have for twelve years experlenced the many Joys pranks and petty troubles of school chlldren together an d we know that ln the future wherever they may be the txes of frlendshlp that have bound them these twelve years will contlnue to be held sacred ln thelr memorles And now although we are leavmg the old Y H S forever we shall be true to her always and w1ll forever cherlsh those lmgerlng memorles of the happlest days of our llves To the Jolly Jumors and best wlshes and hope for them the greatest success es m whatever they may undertake to do Lewls Kmsey Y H S 1924 25 L . orlglnal number to complete the Freshman vear A much vslser and smarter bunch entered the new bulldlllg the followmg fall On October lb 1922 the doors of the new school bulldmg were thrown open to admlt mamlv tw entv nme Sophomores three of whom were begmnlng there flrst vear vw 1th us Claudla Dorton Marguerlte Clevenger and Jacob Lennmgton vu ho took the place of three Freshman who had moved Opal Bolton Nye Irene Courtnev and Halhe Conner MISS Lorncr however and Harrv Rlchardson are graduatmg wlth the class at Muncie Hlgh School thls vear Our Sophomore vear saw no new members dur mg the vear All went well wlth the ent1re twentv nlne of us untxl Earnest Mlller succumbed to an at tack of low grades and retlred from hlgh school on Februarv 16 1923 At about the same tlme Rubv Fuson and Waneta Parklson were forced to vuth draw on account of poor health and about one month later Marguerlte Clevenger also bade good owe to Y H S and surroundlngs Our next enemv seemed to be Sprmg Farm Work and two of our bovs Arthur Davls and Robert Reed answered the call vwhlle another Carl Ogle flndlng It easler to flsh along the rlver than to studv Latm followed the lmes of least reslstance and also wlthdrew about the same tlme Follovs mg these ravages of slckness, work and lazmess there were twenty two Sophs left to f1n1sh the second tear At the begmnmg of the Junlor vear Mlldred Abbott and Athel Garner vellded to the lntense cravmg for beautlful clothes and an exlstence that affords more so called pleasure than school and thev too made the great mlstake kathrxn kldd entered Dalevllle from whlch she lb graduatlng thls vear However three new students came and supplanted the three who had dropped out and started thelr Junior ve r Ru vv Fuson had loo' ed at the green people of Cammack long enough that she recovered ler p rtlallv lost eveslght and returned Marv Lolse Searls came from one of her alvwavs mvsterxous of the Class of 25 as a result of havmg taken too long a Chrlstmas vacatlon the vear before All went well untll Rubv Fuson agaln had to leave school on account of bad eveslght real or lm agmarx On Janualv 1 1925 Dora Nelson saw fmt to leave school for obvlous reasons and embark wlth the good shlp Elll on on the rough and stormv sea of matrlmonv Mav she have a happv prosperous and seaslckless vovagel Incldentallv four others vx ho have been at one t1'ne member of our class are sallmg that same sea Thev are namelv Opal Nve Bolton Marguerlte Clevenger Margaret Applegate and Waneta Parklson As far as anvone knows thev are maklng the best of a bad mlstake 7 A ' m.
