IAAP is a native of Englewood, Colorado. He was graduated from Englewood High School and attended i D University of Denver for two years prior to entering the U. S. Naval Academy in 1928. Upon graduation in June 1932 he commissioned an Ensign and, through subsequent promotions, has attained the rank of Rear Admiral. for which he was selecte July 1959. Admiral IAAP completed Hight training at Pensacola, Florida, and was designated a Naval Aviator on 30 October 1935. World War II saw Admiral IAAP serving in many commands, including Patrol Squadron T4 Anti-Submarine Warfare Unit, TENTH FLEEIS Headquarters, and Chief Staff Officer and. later Azores. Subsequently, he has held many important sea commands, including command of one Squadrons-Composite Squadron 7, 1950-51. He was Commandin . Fleet Air 'Wing 5, Atlantic l . Commander. U. S. Naval For of the Navy's hrst Atomic Bt g Officer of the USS BADOEING STRAIT QCYE-1161, 1955-56. USS CORAL SEA CCVA-43D, 1956-57. His last sea duty assignment prior to selection for Rear Admiral was that of Chief of St, and Aide to Commander Carrier Division SIX. Admiral IAAP is a graduate of the U. S. His recent assign ments have included that of Director, Atomic Energy Division, in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations H9581 and Director. Development Programs Division, in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations H960-625. Additionally, he was the U. S. Membe' of the NATO Naval Steering Group during this latter period. In addition to the'U. S. Naval Postgraduate School, Admiral IAAP is a 1955 graduate of the Naval 1Yar College. ' Rear Admiral IAAP's awards include the Legion of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Order of British Empire CDegree of Officerj. , In 1935 Admiral IAAP married the former Frances Davies, whose home is Seattle.
