The V-1 Division is composed of plane directors, plane handlers, elevator operators, phone talkers and fire fighters. Under the super- vision of the Aircraft Handling and Flight Deck Officers they move and position all aircraft on the fiight on the flight deck. Working in the Wide open space of the fiight deck their job is to tovv, push, tie dovvn, chock up and control all aircraft in positioning them for launch and recovery. The Repair 8 crevv of the division is ever ready to flight fires and handle crashes. The next launch is .....

Warren The V-2 Division provides the means for launching and arresting the aircraft. Divid- ed essentially into two groups they main- tain and operate the ship's hydraulic cata- pult and arresting gear equipment. Their job is to hook the aircraft to the catapult and launch it. Then from the after end of the flight deck they operate the arrest- ing engines and wires which catch and stop the aircraft in a short distance.
