l I l Tearful goodbyes and sincere wishes for smooth sailing. W cib8l0!0gl'l'L8l'Lf to Hawaii found the LADY in need of replenishment. The rushing Return from the cruise of the November cruise was not in evidence as the LADY took aboard the hundreds of thousands of items that would be needed for the long journey into the Far East. Chan ing sailing dates failed to change often enough to keep the Yorktown from it's hardest g task, that of leaving home and loved ones behind again. As we sailed away from Alameda mixed emotions prevailed. For the neophyte, here was adventure ahead and home behind. For the salt, ahead was work fun and a touch of home-sickness. Each had in common a dedication. or some 7 a job that must be done, for others a sense of devotion to duty, for all a pride IH the task we knew we would do well. The 12th Naval District band furnished a rousing Anchors Aweigh . JI
