Welcome aboard. The wives learn how We live. It was a cold pre-dawn formation, but the gals loved it. Getting acquainted with the other LADY in their husbands, lives, Wives of Yorktown officers and crew look forward each year to a full day at sea, viewing first hand, just how their hubbies contribute to the operation of the ship. The jam- packed day begins at 0800 with quarters for muster on the flight deck, and includes scheduled tours of the various spaces, the observation of air operations, a Well appreciated noon meal, the viewing of the motion picture HThe Fighting Ladyfi, and a gunnery demonstration if Weather permits, bringing the exciting day to a climax at about 1700. Captain Colestock said of this years Wives' Day, The day Was a definite success .because the basic purposes Were accomplished? The Wives got a chance to become better acquainted with the role of naval aviation in todayis national defense picture. So, all in all, it Was generally agreed that Wives' Day is here to stay,
