Doris Davies. Diane Nichols, Ioy Lynn Morris, Eileen Price. Gloria Welker, Mrs. Hippensteele . As the school year progressed toward its finish. the music program gained momentum. In the spring the music room was its busiest when choirs and soloists were practicing enthusiastically for our Spring Re- cital. The Girl's Chorus, Girl's Sextet. Mixed Chorus and 10 of the music students entered festivals at Ada, Lima and Convoy-Union. Christmas vacation was preceded by a Christmas musical program. The 5th and 6th grades present- ed the operetta, 'Christmas with the Old Woman Who Lived in a S oe .

ROW 2: Sharon Rauch, Jean Ann Allen, Marilyn Gamble, Sydney Krugh, Anne Overholt, Joy Lynn Morris, Dickie Bolton, Joe Book, Alice Krugh, Richard Krugh, Connie Wilkins, Shirley Kundert. ROW 3: Mr. Atkinson, Virginia Rider, Don Williams, Gloria Welker, Ruth Ann Welker, Evelyn Perez, Kathryn Profit, Richard Morris. The York School Band has had a very active and successful year under the direction of Mr. Atkinson. EVENTS FOR THE YEAR Ohio State Fair: Our band played August 22 at the Ohio State Fair. County Fair: We played the afternoon of September 5. What fun! ! Christmas Program: give a Christmas programin co-operation with the grades and vocal department December Basketball Games: Played at two of our home games during the season. County Band Festival: York Band took part in the Band Festival which was held at Convoy-Union. Decoration Day: The Band played for the Venedocia Memorial Service. Thanks to the Mothers' Club - our band now is completely outfitted in new uniforms and we are very proud - of them. We now have thirty-three members. Mr. Atkinson: The band enjoyed playing and working with you this year.
