A Glance Into The Future Some of the Seniors have been wondering about their Futures so, since I have been granted the Secrets of Ala from the King of Hoboken himself, I will don my turban and dip into the bowl marked 1946 Graduates Futures and reveal to you some of my most precious secrets. Let us pause a few moments to let 53 years whiz by! 1999! Ah, the mist is rising and low and behold if it doesn't reveal a Dairy Farm. And there's Bob Bolton, our Senior class president, just going into a large barn. The King has just informed me that Bob has the largest dairy farm in York Township and supplies the entire population of J ones- town with all the dairy products they need! But wait! The mist has changed the scene and now I see an island. And there's a sign reading Wilbur Krugh, Warden of Alcatraz. Gosh, Krugh's name put him on the good side of a prison! Another change of scenery and I see Dorothy Reese clerking in Monkey-Wards store at Jonestown. She is selling Nylons to her old classmate, Katherine Mihm. Kate owns the Super-Deluxe Beauty Salon on East Radar Street in Converse. Now we turn to the East and observe a large University. But who's this? Gloria Williams in black, shell-rimmed glasses teaching Home Eco- nomics to a couple of tow-headed Evans kids! I guess Bill and his childhood sweetheart took the fatal step, after all. Bill is the champion speedway racer of the entire United States. The King tells me that Mary Roberts is the Dean of Women in that same University, in fact, it was built in her honor and named The Univer- sity of Roberts Haven on Roberts Boulevard, Venedocia. He also informs me that Ethel Lloyd is Editor-in-Chief of the Tokio Press and operates a 400-acre farm in her spare time. Her high school chum, Rose Ann Patrick, is now Chief Operator on the San Francisco and Chunking Telephone Line. Now we go to the Alps Mountains in Switzerland where we see Dean Crone and his herd of pure-bred Scapegoats resting while three black, curly-headed boys catch up with them. Back to the states and into the city of Cincinnati. There we see Doe Perez coaching the Cincinnati Reds in the fine art of playing old-fash- ioned baseball. So far, the Reds have won every game they've played under his guidance. Hayden Owens is the next one I see. He's the all star heavyweight champion iiea catcher of the world and has held the title for 45 years. The mist again. Now it is rising and I see a group of beautiful models -there's Betty Couts teaching them the art of being graceful. Oh, yes, there's Janette Taylor, too, she's Betty's private secretary and also her leading model. Well, King, I guess that narrows the list down to Edwin Emans. Oh, 1 see him now. He's the technical expert on a railroad, and it's called the Emans Railroad Cmain oflice at Elgin, Ohiol and runs on atomic energy. The main stops are: the moon, Mars. Jupiter and Anahine Mazoosa and Cookamonga. All aboard! i Thanks a lot King, and now I'll go back to my duties as Stewardess on my own private Airline. The fare is half-price to all former classmates and we stop at all planets, constellations and stars. Anyone want a ride? 27
