Through her more than ten years at TEC. she earned the reputation of being a demanding but impartial teacher in the math department. While at TEC. she gave freely of herself, her time, her energy and her interest for the betterment of the school and her students. Most importantly, Mrs. Busby will always be an example of an hon- est and dependable friend with an endearing sense of humor. Therefore, we lovingly dedicate this 1979 Technique to Mrs. Martha Busby. I believe every- one has a dream and along with that dream, a purpose. As I reflect upon my life, my experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse comes first to mind. Through this experience I learned to place other people before myself and to respect the fact that other people need the assistance I can of- fer. She is an eighteen-year old Virgo who enjoys yoga. ballet, and piano. Her favorite sports are basketball and volleyball. Animals, the outdoors, and her friends are her favorite past times. Linda Fourman Ienkins Civil Engineering Linda's interests are in highway design and drafting and her hob- bies include fishing, reading, hik- ing, and crewel embroidery. Lisa Vernoica jones Bookkeeping Lisa, a Bookkeeping major and member of the Student Govern- ment Association, has set her goal to become a qualified book- keeper and someday a banking representative. Patricia Ann Loftin Industrial Electricity Patricia is a General Business major whose ambition in life is to become a Certified Public Ac- countant. T Some responsibilities of the SGA are to represent the student body at all offical functions of the college, pro- mote the social, cultural, and industrial standards of the college, and to act as liaison between the student body and the college admin- istration. Membership consists of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Parliamentarian, and one or more representatives from each department. Night students are represented by an SGA Advisory Council chaired by the Vice President. The leaders of the SGA are com- mitted to serving the student body and to developing student awareness of the many facets of life at the college. The Association provides students in all areas of the college a voice in student affairs, as well as the opportunity to engage in the democratic process. Secretary Machella Freeman, Vice President X 45 PHI THET KAPPA Phi Theta Kappa is a national honor fraternity for junior college students whose purpose is to recognize and encourage scholarship and to provide opportunity for the development of leadership and service. To be eli- gible for membership in the York TEC chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, a student must be enrolled in one of the following: College Transfer, Data Processing, General Business, Accounting, Medical Lab Technology, Radiologic Technology, Nursing, Civil Engineer- ing, Electronics Engineering, Engineering Graphics, Gen- eral Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Management. In addition, a student must be fulltime and must complete two quarters of a two-year program. He must have a G.P.R. of 3.5 or higher and should be of good moral character and should possess recognized qualities of citizenship as judged by the faculty.
