Text from Pages 1 - 96 of the 1952 volume:

dedication We the class of 1952 wish to express our thanks to Mr. Homer Zeigler, who has worked dili- gently with us to make the publication of this book possible. His good humor and his willingness to help when called upon has made him well liked by everyone. In appreciation for what he has done for us and our school we dedicate to him the 1952 NORAD. Pr icifja Develop sound fundamental prin- ciples of life from which you will not swerve fbr personal gain or tem- poral power. Remember that you will never know it all and that there is a power above and beyond your comprehension a power that should have a hand in the moulding of your life. Have faith in that power and try to leave the world a little better for having passed through it. 3 Dale Roth, B. S. Lebanon Valley College Gettysburg College Shlppensburg S. T. C. The rest cf the team was made up largely of inex- perienced boys, mostly from the Sophomore class. The team would probably have done better in the last few games if it had not been for a flood of minor injuries which handicapped them. Four members of the foot- ball team will graduate this year: Captain Mac Lott, Donald Tanger, Donald Wonders and Bill Fortney. Next years's team should be a great improvement over this year'steam since the boys have some experience. Good luck, Coach Mentzer during the next season and all the seasons to follow. Eight players had graduated from last year's team leaving four positions open on the Varsity. With the help of Coach Kemper and Assistant Coach Mentzer the team went on to five victories ana seven defeats, putting them in fifth place at the end of the season. The prospects for next year's team will be very high, since only three members of the Varsity will graduate this year. Good luck Coach Kemper during next season and all the seasons, to follow.. See I Things are beginning to take form ] That big new building that seems to be the center cf attraction In the now large city cfYork Springs is without doubt the new school. The building was financed by Mac Lott, Donald Snyder and Dean Starry whose fruit farms are now world- famous • Let's go into the school. Why there's Doris Hoffmani She tells us that she is the school secretary and has complete charge of the office. Say, those three people speaking to the principal look mighty familiar] Now we know why. It's Betty Darr, Janet Miller and Clair Murphy complaining about the unjust punishment their children receive in school. Let's visit the Home Economics room next. Esther Lory is the teacher and she is quite proud of the well-equipped cafeteria. Now let's go down town. There's a doctor's office and it's none other than Dr. Carolyn Snyder's. Her nurse is Charlene Brough. Doesn't that boy that they're treating for chemical burns have a striking resemblance to Julius Barthelme? He should, it's his son. He must be like his old man. The new agricultural bureau in town is run by three of the county's best farmers, Donald Wonders, Francis Lerew, and James Behney. Harriet Scott, Marie May, Nadine Arentz and Dotty Miller live in town sind all have been happily married for several years. Tha new art shop is Dolores Pecharts' pride and joy and Delores Plank seems to enjoy helping her in the shop. Nadine Reinecker is now the supervisor of the biggest department store in town. There is Don Tanger's hunting supply store. And next is Joy Chronister's beauty salon. The headlines of the. Daily Blow newspaper say that Doris Divel has just broken the worlds speed record in auto racing. Who's that limping down the street? Why it's Bill Fortney. He rodethe winning horse in the Kentucky Derby and broke his leg when he fell off his horse at the end of the race. The tea leaves, it seems, have now lost all their revealing power so we shall now dispose of them and go on our merry ways.
